Dr. Joanne Cacciatore
Creative Companionship™ is more than activities — it’s about creating opportunities for meaningful connection. Sessions are guided and relaxed to give participants time to think, respond, and share without correction.
The activities — whether music, art, or simple creative projects — are thoughtfully designed to make it easier for people living with dementia to engage with others, spark curiosity, and connect in meaningful ways.
I’ve spent nearly two decades guiding families caring for someone living with dementia and had the privilege of being trained by Teepa Snow, a renowned dementia care educator — also working with her professionally. Through my work with clients and my own beloved family members, I’ve seen time and again that people living with dementia are capable of far more than we often realize. When we meet them where they are — instead of where we wish they’d be — meaningful connection becomes not just possible, but truly joyful.
Creative Companionship™ is offered in partnership with participating senior centers and senior living communities, bringing thoughtful, relationship-centered experiences to the people who need them most.
